Who We Are

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership, also known as UN CC:Learn, is a collaborative initiative of 36 multilateral organizations working together to help countries build the knowledge and skills they need to take action on climate change. These include better climate literacy and other crucial skills to tackle this challenge.

UN CC:Learn provides guidance and quality learning resources to support people, governments and businesses to understand, adapt, and build resilience to climate change.

The Secretariat for UN CC:Learn is provided by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). UN CC:Learn is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and UN Partners.

Partners

There are 36 multilateral organizations standing behind UN CC:Learn. They include organizations from the UN system and regional and international financial institutions. Experts from each partner organization share their expertise to design new learning products and activities. At the country level,  UN CC:Learn work closely with UN country teams to support systematic and tailored climate change learning.

Each partner organization is represented in the Steering Group. They meet once a year to guide UN CC:Learn’s programme implementation.

Ambassadors

Our Ambassadors for Climate Change Learning share their technical knowledge and their personal experience working to tackle climate change with individuals in new partner countries, both bilaterally and on a regional basis.

They are individuals who played a key role in UN CC:Learn pilot projects that took place at the country level and are enthusiastic about supporting others do the same.

Human capacity is the most important variable that determines whether our country is able to address the challenge of climate change and achieve sustainable development.  – Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, Minister of Water and Environment of Uganda

Impact

To understand the effectiveness of our learning resources and how our courses have been contributing to climate literacy worldwide, UN CC:Learn has been collecting evidence that explains the impact of our courses and how these have inspired our learners to take climate actions.
